Amended Freight Classes for Power Tools

If you ship power tools, please note that freight classes changed on April 28.  This could affect your shipping rates and procedures.

The National Motor Freight Traffic Association amended its National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) for power tools. NMFC Item 131670 has been changed to base freight classifications on density.

If you do not use the new descriptions, your product descriptions will no longer comply.  Carriers will reclassify your shipment, adjust the charges, and assess a Weight & Inspection fee.

UTS can help you comply with these changes.  Please contact your Audit Specialist if you would like our assistance.
